How Can I Create My Own Video Game On Computer Or Xbox 360?

I would like to make a game that I can create and play on my computer or my xbox 360. I don’t really want to have to pay for anything. Is there any site that let’s you create and play games for free?

Most games are written in some form of C code (C, C++, C#) There is a big learning curve. Everything you need to build the programs is available free. You can get a compiler for free from the microsoft developer network http://www.msdn.com, you can get a 3d library like OpenGL or Direct X for free and you can get a 3d graphics program for free at blender.org. The biggest thing you will need is to learn how to type code. For that, i suggest that you get a book from your local bookstore or amazon.com

If you want it to be good in any way at all, odds are you’re gonna have to pay, although you could make a perfectly fine text-based RPG pretty easily and host it on your own site, or with a free web host (freewebs, etc.)… If you don’t know what I mean by “text-based RPG,” check out Hell Wars ( http://www.hellwars.com )…
    Good luck!
