Can I Use Health Savings Account Contributions To Pay Off Surgery Bills From A Preexisting Surgery?

I set up a Health Savings Account (HSA) in October 2008. I had wrist surgery in May 2008. Can I use any of those funds to pay off some bills?

    Scoop, Unfortunately, you are not able to use funds in your HSA to reimburse yourself for expenses incurred prior to the establishment of the account.
