What Reaction Do People Give You When You Tell Them You Study Or Work In Politics?

I just think it’s sort of funny how I always get a reaction when I tell people I’m involved in politics. I either get a look that asks me: 1. how can you possibly be interested in that? 2. how could you possibly get involved with such scandal? (which clearly isn’t true, but people assume all politics is scandalous)
Do any of you get a reaction? Any funny stories or comments from people?

Early in college, i was a political science major and when i would tell folks that i was majoring in it, i would always get the same question “what do you do with that?” After realizing that I could do little with a political science degree and that political science is a crap shoot, with absolutely no order to it once so ever, I moved onto psychology.
So to answer your question, people tended to have a fairly negative reaction to such a thing and I find it understandable these days.
