My 3 year old is in a booster seat now.
I’ve been told that when no one else is in the car my mother-in-law puts her in it, in the front passenger seat.
Is this ok? Is there any law against this? We are talking UK here.
What Is The Law On Children In The Front Seat?

a child has to be over twelve to sit in the front seat of a car.xxx
I don’t think there is a law on children in the front seat of the car as long as they have a booster or child seat. If you are allowed a baby seat in the front with or without an airbag (as long as air bag is switched off), then a child in a booster seat shouldn’t be a problem.

no laws except morally and safety the best place is in the back middle seat
Check with your local Highway Patrol or Police Department and they can tell you. My advice to you is never put a car seat or booster seat in front especially if you have a passenger side air bag.If the bag deploys it can harm or kill a child restrained in one of those car/booster seats. Not trying to scare you just trying to protect a child.
I’m almost sure that they have to be over 12 years old. The only way you’re allowed a child on a booster seat in the front is if you already have two child seats in the rear and you can’t fit in a third one.
Why would you want to take this risk? If someone crashed into the back of you chances are the poor kid would be catapulted into the middle of next week……and also having a small child in the front seat is bad news if the airbag deploys….
