What Sort Of Day Tours To Mainland China From Hong Kong Do You Recommend?

I would like to take a day excursion to mainland China when I go to Hong Kong. Since I am a US citizen, I am not eligible for the Shenzen Visa, and think a regular Chinese Visa may be a little pricey for a day trip. But I was reading that if you go in a tour you will get a group visa for the whole tour group, if I understand that correctly. If that is true, what sort of tours out there do you recommend from Hong Kong? Thank you.

Since you only have one day you could join a day tour to HK’s neigbouring cities like Shenzhen which is quite similar to some US cities in its tourist attractions ie with lots of man-made theme parks. Depending on the time of year, there’re also some tours to visit nearby fruit farms like lai chee farms (it’s a small juicy fruit, very sweet, once you’re inside the farm you can eat whatever you like). Not too sure about the group visa though, it’s better that you check with the local travel agent or the US Consulate in Hong Kong. Have fun!

You can head to CTS Travel which is specialized in tours to mainland China, which includes Shenzhen. Indicate that your are US citizen and they can carry on from there by arranging you to apply from appropriate visa.
